Michael Saliba from the University of Stuttgart and the Forschungszentrum Jülich research center received the curious minds award by Martin Noé, Manager Magazin, and Belén Garijo, CEO of the Merck group, in the category“Materials & Active Ingredients”. Saliba is developing novel solar cells from perovskite crystals, with which he recently set a new world record for power conversion efficiency. The resulting technologies have been patented, and international corporations have already obtained the first set of licenses.
