Equal opportunities in the Research Training Group

The GRK 2642 at the University of Stuttgart takes a comprehensive approach to gender equality, emphasizes the importance of reconciling science, studies and work with family responsibilities and underlines the importance of diversity. This focus is a key element in promoting our innovative and high-quality research.

Our Research Training Group is committed to promoting equal opportunities in science. We follow the guidelines of the German Research Foundation (DFG) regarding the use of equal opportunity funds to create an inclusive and diverse research community. Our goal is to break down barriers faced by women, minorities and people with disabilities in academia. We offer specific programs and initiatives to support these groups in their scientific careers. These include mentoring, workshops and financial support tailored to the individual needs of our doctoral students. Our approach aims to strike a balance between excellence in research and the promotion of equality and diversity.

This is implemented in the Research Training Group in the form of various measures:

  • Participation in "Pooling  - synergies for equal opportunities in collaborative research networks" at the University of Stuttgart

  • Consultations with the Gender & Diversity Consultant at the University of Stuttgart
