1. Brongersma Group: They are focused on the field of nanophotonics and metamaterials, exploring how these advanced materials can manipulate light in novel ways. Their research has significant implications for improving optical communication systems and creating new types of sensors with unprecedented capabilities.
2. Heinz Group: They are pioneering research in chemical engineering, focusing on developing advanced materials and processes for sustainable energy solutions. Their innovative approaches in catalysis and material science are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, driving both environmental and industrial progress.
3. Dionne Group: Their focus lies on nanophotonics and its applications in sensing and imaging. This cutting-edge research on plasmonic nanostructures is unlocking new possibilities for ultra-sensitive detection techniques and transformative imaging technologies.
It was a privilege to see their work up close and engage in stimulating discussions about their research as well as potential collaborations.
All this was made possible thanks to Prof. Mark Brongersma, who welcomed us at Stanford, organised this great day and set up the contact with all the involved persons. We thank all the hard working PhD students and PostDocs for taking time to show us around: Eileen Otte, Nicholas Güsken, Qitong Li, Alexander Al-Zubeidi and Feng Pan.
