We visited the campus of University of California, Berkeley, had two impressive lab tours, and inspiring discussions about their ongoing research.
Arias Group: Prof. Ana Claudia Arias, Chair of Electrical Engineering, welcomed us at the EE Department. We gained valuable insights on their educational concept, which emphasizes practical courses. She guided us through her clean room facilities, where they work on printed and flexible electronics.
Ajoy Group: We met Prof. Ashok Ajoy and his group who is working on nitrogen-vacancy centers. They showed us around their high magnetic field NMR setups. Part of the group also focuses on other materials, such as pentacene, which they grow themselves.
